We will be helping you to get 5 crucial measurements.
Before we get started, please make sure you have a:
Pencil
A Piece of Paper
A Measuring Tape
And a step stool or ladder if needed!
Step # 1: The first measurement we will need is the width of the opening.
The width of the opening is the length from side to side.
Please make sure you are measuring the inside width of the opening only, do not measure the edge of the door frame also known as the casing or trim molding. Again only measure the inside width from side to side.
This measurement is crucial for determining how much your door will overlap the doorway on each side to provide adequate privacy.
Step # 2: The second measurement we will need is the height of the opening.
The height of the opening is the distance from the floor to the top of the opening.
The height of the opening is the distance from the floor to the top of the opening.
Please make sure you are measuring from the floor to the top of the opening only, do not measure the top edge of the door frame also known as the casing or trim molding. Again, only measure from the floor to the top of the opening.
Step # 3: The third measurement we will need is the length of the left wall beside the opening.
Please measure from the left edge of the doorway to the end of the left wall.
Step # 4: The fourth measurement we will need is the length of the right wall beside the opening.
Please measure from the right edge of the doorway to the end of the right wall..
Step # 5: The fifth measurement we will need is the distance from the top of the opening to the ceiling.
Please measure the distance from the top of the doorway to the ceiling.
